Corrina – I disabled the firewall and anti-virus on my firewall and ran a test but still encounter the error. Should I attempt to roll-back WP to the previous version to see if WP is the actual cause? I understand that WP must be kept up to date to provide protection so this wouldn’t be a permanent solution by any means.
George – I’m sorry not adept enough to perform anything you suggested but it’s good to know that WP doesn’t block IPs. Thanks for that info!
Simon – do you know when this error began for you?
Thanks for the fix for the http/https replace! I really appreciate that and will use it.
I will reach out to my host about the etc file.
I have Kaspersky Anti-virus and standard Windows Firewall I believe. I was told by one of the chat agents that the firewall issue had nothing to do with what firewall is installed on my personal computer and only what firewall my host is providing for my website – is this info I shouldn’t have relied on?
Sorry I wasn’t explicit no firewall or antivirus plugins on my WP
Sorry I have no idea how to check my” /etc/hosts file” [only basic understanding of wp here]
I see what you are saying that there’s no S on the http part of the error [my webhost tech chat agent had mentioned that some of my media (probably images) have been uploaded as http and some as https and is causing a warning about mixed content but proffered no solution to this and didn’t indicate if it was related to the error I am encountering.]
The only related plugin I saw active on my wp is called Loginizer which I have just deactivated but error remains.
Sorry my knowledge is so limited when it comes to WP!
