It’s not a plugin conflict, nor is it the theme. And it turns out users also can’t upgrade from one member level to another, either.
We are working on installing on a clean wordpress install.
I have the most current version and am having the same issue. However, it *was* working recently but no longer is working. I’m going to test to see if it’s conflicting with plugins

Links to other pages do not work (link titles are 1,2,3,4, etc.) and the link to the blog results also doesn’t work. But the link to the filter that shows results only in groups and members does work.

The results page looks totally different with the plugin, which is fine, if only it worked. It would be even better if we could sync it up with kleo so that it has a nice look to it.

We do use levels but there are add on features for those levels, hence the ccaps.
We do the conditionals when we have control over the page. I was able to sort it out by writing a filter in our bp-custom.php file. We needed to test the URL and then for those specific groups, test for ccaps.
If you know how to restrict URIs by ccaps (not levels) using something more official within s2member, please let me know.
The group pages need to be protected by ccaps, not member level. The restriction by URI is only by member level as a default, hence the s2hacks.
“Request Membership” buttons are on the directory of all groups. I am using the Kleo theme. I can’t recall if they are not shown in the view of all groups in a standard theme.
