In reply to: [Astra] Astra Starter Sites import failedI am also having a problem importing the starter sites. I have tried multiple times, on a fresh WordPress install and also after blanking the database and I always get the same result. The process appears to be working and doesn’t throw any errors, but when it ends and you click on “view site”, you basically get the same boring default WordPress page. For a couple of the themes, one or two icons imported, or the text color or font changed a little, but it looks nothing like the starter site demo. I am mystified. For the record, other vendors’ starter sites import perfectly for me. For example, Neve and also Sydney themse have starter sites and those work exactly right.
I really wanted to like this theme because it got so many great reviews and has a high installation base, but before committing to it I would like to see it working on my site.
I put in a support request with the author but have not heard back yet. Also requested to join the Astra Facebook group but have not been added to the group. So I am stuck… anybody else have this problem or figured out how to get these to work? Thanks!
It was a generic 503 error. It didn’t say what was causing the problem. However, as of this evening I am able to access my sites again so I will assume for now that it was a temporary server-side problem. Thanks!

In reply to: [WPtouch - Make your WordPress Website Mobile-Friendly] BROKEN!I don’t see a way to amend my review, so I will just say that in view of the fact that the newest version is incompatible with our site themes, we are unable to use WPTouch any longer. However, we appreciate the plugin very much and wish to thank BraveNewCode Inc. for this great plugin which worked very well for us for a long time. It is definitely worth a 5 star rating. Thank you very kindly.

In reply to: [WPtouch - Make your WordPress Website Mobile-Friendly] fatal errorI appreciate the response to our concerns about the incompatibility of the ThemeForest/MySiteMyWay themes with WPtouch 3.x. They have advised users to deactivate or remove the WPTouch plugin since the current versions of their themes are responsive. This is what we plan to do.
I would like to thank you for making this excellent plugin available, including the no-cost version which we used initially before upgrading our clients’ sites to the Pro version. It was an excellent solution while it worked. Thanks again.

In reply to: [WPtouch - Make your WordPress Website Mobile-Friendly] BROKEN!I am not amending my review because the problem has not been resolved! You apparently didn’t read my post because this has nothing to do with any 2.x version of WordPress. I am running the latest version of WordPress, 3.8, and a ThemeForest theme– just like the other person who posted in the forum who has the same problem. I have tried every one of the 3.x revisions to WPTouch on my sites and they all generate a fatal error making the sites inaccessible. Version 1.989 of the WPTouch plugin is the last version that still works. None of the 3.x versions work.

In reply to: [WPtouch - Make your WordPress Website Mobile-Friendly] fatal errorThis plugin is still BROKEN even after installing version 3.1.4. FATAL ERROR! If you are using WordPress 3.8 and a Themeforest theme, DO NOT INSTALL this plugin. It DOES NOT WORK and will break your site (not just for mobiles).
I have been lucky so far and have not lost control of the site after unsuccessfully trying versions 3.1.1 – 3.1.4 but I am not taking any more chances.

In reply to: [WPtouch - Make your WordPress Website Mobile-Friendly] fatal errorI have exactly this same error, and I am also using a mysitemyway theme on my sites. Ever since upgrading to the new version of WPtouch, it just does not work. The latest update 3.1.3 that came out today (12/13/2013) did not resolve this error. When the plugin is activated, the site becomes inaccessible. The problem occurs on several sites using the same theme. Deactivating and deleting the WPtouch plugin (including all of the files) and reinstalling it from scratch did not fix the problem. The only way that I was able to get the site working again with the plugin was to revert to the older version 1.989. I was very glad that fortunately, I did not lose control of the site and have to delete all of the site files and reinstall everything from scratch. 🙂
