Not sure why this conflict with Wordfence. Was working fine with an old server, but when I moved to a new server all of a sudden, this issue.
What was really odd was the test functions on the plugin threw an error, but I would still get my wordfence emails saying there were problems or I deactivated wordfence via the plugin.
BTW I am using post smtp not the less secure postman smtp.
