Thanks for looking into this, I’m sure it’s something I’m doing wrong, just can’t figure it out.

It ‘feels’ to me like it is a php issue, my hosting company updated their PHP to the latest version recently and since then I’ve been having similar problems with photo captions. (WP is current version)
