If you want to use wordpress in XAMPP, go into XAMPP under http://localhost/ or http://127.0.0.1/ and on the bottom left, under tools to enter PHPmyAdmin. Create a new database, then on the top click credentials. It will have a username. Remember it. o into the place you installed wordpress and let the server be localhost. The username should be what you saw in the credentials (usually “root”) and the password should be blank.
That’s it.
