In reply to: [Plugin: W3 Total Cache] dont work minifyI also use nginx, and everything works except for CSS/JS minify. So far I just haven’t bothered to put in the time to figure out why.

In reply to: Bad Behavior overtaken by new developments?Much of the new spam I am seeing is being manually posted by actual humans. Bad Behavior does not target requests made by humans, only automated requests.
Bad Behavior users really should subscribe at the Bad Behavior web site to get updates and faster support.

In reply to: [Plugin: W3 Total Cache] Bad Behavior and Ozh’s Who Sees Ads compatibilityMake that “MUST NOT” be cached. RFC 2616 is quite clear on this:
A response received with a status code of 200, 203, 206, 300, 301 or 410 MAY be stored by a cache and used in reply to a subsequent request, subject to the expiration mechanism, unless a cache-control directive prohibits caching. However, a cache that does not support the Range and Content-Range headers MUST NOT cache 206 (Partial Content) responses.
A response received with any other status code (e.g. status codes 302 and 307) MUST NOT be returned in a reply to a subsequent request unless there are cache-control directives or another header(s) that explicitly allow it. For example, these include the following: an Expires header (section 14.21); a “max-age”, “s-maxage”, “must-revalidate”, “proxy-revalidate”, “public” or “private” cache-control directive (section 14.9).

In reply to: [Plugin: W3 Total Cache] IIS6 & Windows CompatabilityOnly installed on 19% of all web servers and serving only 21% of all domains, Microsoft IIS is hardly the majority. Sorry. There are a variety of reasons for this, though the ones that are particularly relevant here are that Windows doesn’t perform as well as other operating systems, especially Linux, and deploying web technologies such as PHP on Windows can be a harrowing experience.
I have to commend you on your clear and correct documentation; I only wish the full documentation were available prior to plugin installation.

In reply to: [Plugin: W3 Total Cache] Bad Behavior and Ozh’s Who Sees Ads compatibilityI had a Bad Behavior user who also uses W3 Total Cache complain. The source of the issue seems to be that negative (400/403 etc) responses are being cached, when they should not be. I only just heard of W3 Total Cache this afternoon, so I haven’t dug in too deeply, but I was able to reproduce the problem on my local testbed.
I don’t think the Super Cache hack would be appropriate, or even necessary, for W3 Total Cache, since the designs are completely different. The only real problem I can see is the 4xx pages being cached.

In reply to: [Plugin: Bad Behavior] White list questionYes. You should always run another spam prevention plugin with Bad Behavior. See http://www.bad-behavior.ioerror.us/documentation/spam-prevention-strategy/ for further discussion.

In reply to: [Plugin: Bad Behavior] White list questionBad Behavior runs on a variety of different platforms, not just WordPress, and there is no standard way to provide an interface to Bad Behavior’s settings across these different platforms. Storing them in a file is the only current solution that is sure to work.
Your concern about the whitelist being overwritten is legitimate, though. This should not happen, and it will be addressed in a future release of Bad Behavior.
