Nevermind! I managed to fix it. I hadn’t stripped all the code out of the .htaccess last time and re-installing a new copy did the trick.
Thank you so much!! It turns out it was a conflict with the ‘Async Javascript’ plugin. I switched from ‘async’ to ‘defer’ and it totally fixed the problem. Thanks very much for your prompt help, I appreciate it!

Thank you! Unfortunately I’ve already been using WP Super Cache for a while now and although it’s definitely helped in some aspects, the error persists.
I will definitely look into a new host provider. Thanks.
