Yes I understand. I have contacted my host now and hopefully they can fix my problem.

So the one that was created today? not the old one?
And what do i do just click the upload button and wack that wordpress file in there?
Do i need to delete the wp_old?
I have downloaded wordpress and extracted files and am now looking at my file manager on 123-reg.
I have two files that say wp on them, one is wp and the other is wp_old.
The plain wp one says it was created today, is this the failed update i did?Which one do i upload to?
ahh okay then,I’m just nervous to go about it because i’m not entirely sure what im doing.
I don’t even know how to extract files or where my existing wordpress files reside
This may be a stupid statement but if i download wordpress again wont it be blank? Will it not effect my site?
Also the fatal error – Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_safe_remote_get() in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage22/sp/or/ts/sportscreative.com/public_html/wp/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 500
Looks like it is saying that the problem is the undefined function on line 500 of that file. Could that be the issue?

However, i have no idea how to go about doing that
I apologise in advance but I am brand new to all this website design/running stuff and so struggle with some of the jargon.
I have run backups using a plugin, will this have backed up database, wp-content and wp-config.php?
And am i meant to run another backup now i have tried and failed to update wordpress?
