how do I turn this feature on? I’ve activated the Protect module in Jetpack but it doesn’t show up on login.

Seems the theme author has gone away and abandoned us. I’ve got Super Skeleton v 2.0.6.1. If I try and upgrade to WP 3.8.1 will things get messed up? Currently running 3.7
