In reply to: [Recencio Book Reviews] Images not showing on front pageSuddenly, and for no reason I can discern, the images started showing up again. Briefly. On the next load, they were gone again.

In reply to: Images suddenly scaled on uploadKim,
Thanks very much for this, which precisely answers my question. Because it was sudden and affected all sites, I was sure this was either WP or my hosting provider, but I didn’t see any posts about it, and the article/change you mention completely passed me by.
Thanks for easing my mind! My biggest images are just over the limit, so I’ll likely disable the feature for convenience.

In reply to: [Recencio Book Reviews] Custom templates (2)Completed the migration, got the update. Looks good! A few minor things:
- The genre tags don’t show up
- Standalone books (no series) show a 0 in the series line instead of being blank
Thanks for all the work on this. I had some theme glitches in my own migration, but I’m slowly working those out.
I still think it would be great for Recencio to have a template editor, so we could define our own templates and position elements as desired. Maybe a long-term goal?

In reply to: [Recencio Book Reviews] Custom templates (2)Great to hear. I’ll start planning the migration of reviews from my custom solution to Recencio.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Can’t reach admin pageDoesn’t seem to have been related to Jetpack after all. I still don’t know what it was, but clearing all browser cookies related to the site seems to have fixed it.

In reply to: [Recencio Book Reviews] Custom templates (2)Looks good. I’m not married to this theme, though I do tend to use themes from this group, and of course I have it set up now.

In reply to: [Recencio Book Reviews] Custom templates (2)Thanks. I remember that the plugin mentions custom templates, and I know there’s a css section, but last I knew you’d said there was no documentation, so I’m a bit at a loss as to how to create a template. I’ve looked at the plugin files, but couldn’t determine where the templates were.
The ‘simple’ template is close to what I want, but essentially, it’s this:
Book cover – left side.
Title – right of cover
Author – right of cover
Series, # – right of cover
Star rating image – right of cover (could be under cover, but I’d rather not have it on the cover)Summary/synopsis – under above
Review – under aboveThat’s it in a nutshell. An example (my current site) is here: https://reviews.metaphorosis.com/review/the-calculating-stars-mary-robinette-kowal/
It wouldn’t have to look exactly like my current approach, but I do like the key elements of it, and I would like to be able to shift things around a bit in my own template.
Any help you can offer would be great.

In reply to: [Recencio Book Reviews] Custom templates (2)Sure. The discussion I had in mind was actually started by someone else, and is here (https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/custom-templates-32/).
Essentially, I like quite a lot about Recencio, and have been thinking about giving up on my (functional but clunky) home-grown Pods-based solution. The one thing is that I’d like to be able to structure the layout of review elements a bit differently from any of the built-in Recencio templates. Custom (that is, plugin-user defined) templates seems like a way to do that. I gave the example of the Novelist plugin, which has such a feature (but lacks other Recencio features).
I’d be happy with either an easy (Recencio template editor feature) or moderate (build your own code/css based format to upload to the plugin folder) or harder (edit the built-in Recencio templates) option, but some kind of greater template customization would be great.
