I have this spacing issue as well – but mine are above and below list items. When I have a list item hyperlinked, clicking edit and going into the editor completely erases the hyperlink. This has happened only after upgrading to the latest wordpress.
I should note that I upgraded to the latest wordpress.
I have the same issue on my website. Whenever I go to edit a page or post, some of the hyperlinks go away. It’s really irritating, as I update my site frequently and rebuilding 10-12 hyperlinks at a time is really grating!
