In reply to: Can't choose author, shows 0 Posts for Authorsvery strangely, it fixed on its own, without me doing anything. maybe it was an issue with the host and the databases? who knows, but the drop down menu for the author is there again.

I have the same problem, i think…. i can’t select an author at all, the drop down menu no longer exists and I am forced to use the default one.

And as a note, I tried creating a new author, it creates, but again, there is no drop down menu to choose that author when creating a new post or editing one.
The weird part is that when I go to delete the new user I created, it asks me to which other authors I want to attribute the post to (with the drop down menu)!!!!

In reply to: Can't choose author, shows 0 Posts for Authorsi am actually trying to repair the tables now, I did the wp_posts tables, they repaired fine, but still same problem.
My site is a news site, there is always new content, so I wouldn’t be able to use an older database (+ we don’t backup as often) since many posts would be gone.
I really have no idea how this started.

I deactivated all plugins, the problem is still there (there is no drop down box under the Author tab in editing or adding posts) and under the User section, still authors (including admin one) shows 0 under posts.
– I tried changing themes to the default one, and still it is the same.
– Tried resetting plugins folder, no luck.
– Just updating all the files of WP (including admin and includes folders…
Still same problem, maybe it is a database issue? Not sure why that would happen tho.
