Hi Cda, I believe I have fixed this issue by implementing an explicit 60 second timeout for HTTP requests.

Please let me know if you still encounter the error. Marking as resolved for now.

    Thank you.

Hey John, following back up here. I didn’t know this until today, but WordPress implements a default timeout of 5 seconds for HTTP requests! So, I thought removing the timeout would fix it at first.

But, it turns out that setting an explicit timeout of 60 seconds was actually the answer!

I have marked this as resolved as I believe I have gotten to the root of this now. Please let me know if you still encounter the error.

Hey Cda, thanks for the report. I just pushed a hotfix that removed an unnecessary timeout on the OpenAI response. Fingers crossed that this resolves the error as I have not been able to reproduce this one yet.

I would appreciate if you’d let me know after you update the plugin if the bot responds properly.

Thanks for trying it out. There is a big update on the way that will allow provider switching and remove the OpenAI reliance.

I updated the plugin, and believe I resolved this error. I tested every possible combination of settings I could think of and could not recreate the error for the life of me.

If you find that the error still occurs, please do write me back here.

    Marking this as resolved.

I had the same issue, I wanted to install this plugin on my bbPress forum. I tried to fix it briefly locally. That didn’t really work but I think the solution is to update the statement in the javascript to the latest, and probably a couple more bugs since the plugin hasnt been updated in a while but WP has.

Here is what i found in the WordPress developer docs:

    https://developer.ww.wp.xz.cn/block-editor/reference-guides/packages/packages-private-apis/

Maybe if I take the time to fix this for them Automattic will offer me a job? Lol.

Hey, thanks for sharing this and for checking out the plugin. I haven’t had that issue on my end. Are you seeing any error messages?

Can you tell me which settings you are using?

I will look into this ASAP along with a few more enhancements.
