    We would like to break clear and not use anything from this person as they are rearly able to be contacted and difficult to deal with.
    We have no access to their servers either.

    So i thought the best solution was to create a whole new site on some new servers that we have complete access to, build what we want while the original site operated away. Then when i am finished we would point the domain name to us.

    so this sort of brings me back to where im at, I now have hosting for 1 year with my service provider, i have installed wordpress on this server. Is it possible to just begin building pages uploading things setting up everything etc then when im finished get the domain name pointed towards us ? will everything i build still work ?

    sorry im just trying to wrap my head around what is the best way do do it no down time to his site and with my limited server/programming knowledge..

    thanks for the responce David.
    ill change that wp_config file back to what it was.

    Whats im trying to do is – wingchunaustralia.com.au has been built by another student using joomla, the site is hosted on their own personal servers.

    I would like to build an entierly new wordpress site and use new hosting servers so i can maintain and update it myself.

    So my thoughts were buy the hosting, install wordpress via the auto script installer supplied by the service provider, build the site the way we want it then transfer / point the domain name over to the new host.

    The way im used to doing it is the domain name is already pointing to the server and i just place a index.html with “under construction” message in the home directory while i build it. once im finished i delete that.

    So I have not built a WP site this way before is it possible to even do it this way ?
