Serious Apologies to all for the scarasm… But, do you also note that it is “odd that” I got very lengthy and and actually quite supportive comments on the post… but still have zero response on tracking down the ill behaving function that is supposed to be part of the WordPress system? As for “stopping you in your tracks”, I respectfully and quite seriously ask “what then stopped you from helping the first time I asked for help”
From the perspective of someone new to this software I got very limited if any support from the ‘support’ system and even had another user leave a ‘comment’ on my blog relating to that format problem because the test posts by mail were left of the blog.. I had left them there specifically to aid anyone that took the time to help me …. instead I got a “me too.. I have the same problem” from someon else that evidently had a simular problem with getting help. If I personally knew enough to help anyone I would be glad to chime in and offer suggestions… unfortunately I am the proverbial newbie and just don’t know enough yet to help anyone.

I take the point on limited attention span/visible length of my post for support and will try to repost when I get no answer after a few days and still need help…. I thought that would be rude is why I hadn’t done it before.

I actually dropped the “post by email” for now. I wanted to be able to use it to post from a cell phone but was testing this mode out to see if it even worked worth pursuing.

Thank you one and all for the response…. you took the time.

I remotely ran the script http://address.of.blog/wp-mail.php and that did pick up the email. I left a note with my host company support to see how to set up a chron task. If they let me….
The format of the emailed message is all munged up but that’s something else. I’ll check the old posts and then maybe have to ask about that one . The HTML code was hidden but I kept getting “20=” inline with the text.
    Thanks again

    Thanks!~
I was afraid it was the need to run a chron task/deamon/job – now just need to find out how to set that up. No shell access
My site was not open as I am just testing but I should open it up for comments and registered posts… I was worried about spam and people hacking a site I was not sure was very secure.
