Our company has a very experienced web developer (based on a different continent – I’ve never met him) and once I provided him with our FTP login details, he was able to get the site up & running again in less than 5 minutes.

Version 3.2.2 of the plugin is still installed, but it’s been deactivated.

Obviously I can’t activate it as it would almost certainly break the site again.

I’m also loathed to delete it & reinstall version 3.0.4 (I kept a copy of this) as I’m now paranoid about making any changes that involve plugins.

It turns out that our site currently runs on WordPress version 4.0.32 & PHP version 5.6.27.

Once our developer has finished higher priority tasks, I’ve been told that he’ll be able to offer me some basic guidance.

Regardless though, the issue still isn’t resolved, in the sense that – on our site at least – Stop Generating Unnecessary Thumbnails 3.2.2 completely breaks the site – despite it running on WordPress 4.0.32, when the minimum requirement is 4.0.0, and despite it running on PHP version 5.6.27, when the minimum requirement is 5.4.

So could the developer please investigate?

    Many thanks
