In reply to: [WordPress Book List] Access ProblemAwesome, glad that worked! Now as far as the Searching & Filtering goes, that is an issue that will be fixed in the 6.0.1 release – but I’ve actually got that particular issue already taken care of, if you want to download the next version a bit early and check it out – get it at http://jakerevans.com/wpbooklist.zip – just delete your current install and install this one. Also, btw, if you end up really liking WPBookList (especially this new version 6.0.0+), you can always throw a review my way at https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/plugin/wpbooklist/reviews/?filter=5!

In reply to: [WordPress Book List] Access ProblemHmm, ok, try this – install this plugin – https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/transients-manager/ – once installed and activated, in the WordPress dashboard, hover over the ‘Tools’ entry, then click on ‘Transients’. You should see a button on the next page that says ‘Delete All Transients’ – click that button (don’t worry, I promise nothing important will disappear – this is a tried-and-true tool I use almost daily). Now try to access those parts of WPBookList again that you couldn’t access before. Any change? Also, make sure there’s only ONE entry in the ‘wpbooklist_jre_users_table’ table with the role of SuperAdmin (that one being you). Also, if you do make any more changes in the database, be sure to ‘Delete All Transients’ each time before trying to access any part of WPBookList.

In reply to: [WordPress Book List] Access ProblemWell, since you’re already digging around in the database, in the ‘wpbooklist_jre_users_table’ table, there should be a column titled ‘role’ and a column titled ‘permissions’ – for the role column, enter ‘SuperAdmin’, and for the ‘Permissions’ column, enter this string: ‘Yes-Yes-Yes-Yes-Yes’ – that should give you access to everything. These values are supposed to be set when a user installs or updates WPBookList (the user that installs or updates the plugin gets the ‘SuperAdmin’ role – and there can only be one WPBookList ‘SuperAdmin’), but it’s a brand-new feature in version 6.0.0, so there are still a couple bugs. The intention is to allow website owners to let other individuals log in and add books to/manage their own libraries, while restricting their access to anything but WPBookList. Can you tell me what those values in your database are, before you change them please?

In reply to: [WordPress Book List] Access ProblemWell, glad to hear that it’s somewhat working as it’s supposed to! If you shoot me an e-mail to [email protected] or [email protected], I can e-mail you some documentation about where to find stored info in the database with WPBookList.
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [WordPress Book List] Access ProblemYou shouldn’t lose any of your books actually, but I would recommend heading to the ‘Backups’ tab on the ‘Settings’ page of the WPBookList Menu, and making a backup of your Libraries, (and downloading the file with the link provided), and/or making a CSV file of the ISBN numbers in your libraries (and downloading the file with the link provided). Shoot me an e-mail at [email protected] and I’ll see about getting you a premium extension that you can use to upload that list of ISBN numbers if needed to your site.

In reply to: Post held for moderation question?Cool, will keep an eye on the forum occasionally for sure still then – thanks for your help!

In reply to: Post held for moderation question?Fantastic, thanks! One last question then I’ll quit bugging you – do you see any issue with me posting a sticky-post on the forums informing all WPBookList Users that I’d rather have them contact me via my [email protected] e-mail address, regardless of whether they’ve purchased a paid WPBookList product or not? These forums certainly are useful, but I’m thinking about getting some actual official support forums of my own set up for all WPBookList Users over at wpbooklist.com.

In reply to: Post held for moderation question?Ah, gotcha – will keep that in mind, thanks! Another quick question – I’ve created this post (https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/support-questions-w-paid-wpbooklist-products/) to inform WPBookList users that if they’ve paid for a product, I can’t support them here and they need to reach out via the paid support channels – how do I make this post ‘Sticky’ so that it stays at the top of the posts lists and posters will see this highlighted, like the three posts at the top of https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/forum/miscellaneous/?

In reply to: [WordPress Book List] Where is Jake?Hi there Astroruss,
Sorry for the MIA – I’ve been heads-down knocking out stuff for version 6.0.0, as well as working on some of my main freelance projects that pay the majority of the bills! Can you send me those e-mails again, and/or just refresh my mind as to the issue here in the forums? Thanks!

In reply to: [WordPress Book List] Access ProblemHi Chemdata,
Exactly where are you seeing this message? On the ‘Add a Book’ tab, and on the ‘Ddit & Delete Books’ Are you seeing this message anywhere that doesn’t have anything to do with WPBookList, like when you try to deactivate the plugin? One thing you can try real quick is to completely deactivate and delete WPBookList, and then reinstall – that should kick off some code that will run upon plugin activation that should basically ‘authorize’ you – it’s possible there was a hiccup when the plugin was last updated.
Let me now how it goes, thanks!

In reply to: [WordPress Book List] Stylepack don’t work@jdembowski, Yes, I’m trying to connect with the user outside of these WordPress forums to then follow-up with their support question, which in this case sounds like it would require me personally to take a look at their site – I definitely didn’t want to ask for any personal info of the user’s here on the forums, as obviously this is a pretty public space for potentially sensitive info like that… when someone here on the forums contacts me and wants me to personally look at their issue, to include logging into their site if need be, what should my official response be so as to not get flagged or whatnot – should I simply post something like, “For support with purchased WPBookList products, please visit wpbooklist.com or e-mail [email protected]. Commercial product support is not allowed in these forums.” and then close the topic and leave it at that? I ask not only because I want to do this right with WPBookList, but I’m working on another plugin that will have commercial addons like WPBookList does as well, so I want to make sure I know exactly what to do and not do for the future.
Thanks for clarifying!

In reply to: [WordPress Book List] Stylepack don’t workHi Nisar,
So the demos on the website are a completely separate issue that shouldn’t have anything to do with your issue (thanks for pointing that out by the way!)
Unfortunately if your website is offline, there’s not a whole lot I can do to help out – I really need to get at your website and have a look to see what’s going on.
All I can tell you is that, once a StylePak is uploaded via the ‘Upload a New Library StylePak’ button on the ‘Library StylePaks’ tab of the ‘Display Options’ menu page, the stylepak should be uploaded to the wp-content/uploads/wpbooklist/stylepaks/library folder.
Honestly the only other thing that comes to my mind would be to make positive that your browser cache is cleared, but you said you’ve already done that so…
If there’s any way you can take your site live to let me have a look, I’d be glad to!

In reply to: [WordPress Book List] Stylepack don’t workHi there,
Firstly, thanks for your purchase!
So it sounds like this might be a caching issue – can you try clearing your browser cache, and then seeing if things look different? You might also try checking out your site with a browser that you know you’ve never used before, and seeing if there’s a difference.
Also, sometimes people think that a StylePak will change the look and feel of a book’s “Book View” (the popup window one sees when clicking on a book, when actually StylePaks only change the look and feel of the “Library View” (The view with multiple books that one sees before clicking on an individual title).
If you’re still having trouble, please shoot me an e-mail to [email protected], and I’ll take a look.
Thanks!
