This is not the same issue. The topic discussed in this thread (https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/urgent-stripe-payment-complete-not-created-with-latest-plugin/page/2/#post-18547619) is related to the fact that I don’t receive the order confirmation email as the store owner for some orders.
The topic here are:
- I have several “orders” that are empty and “Waiting for payment” in the orders’ list. See an example here: https://snipboard.io/qLRt2i.jpg
- For some orders paid by Bancontact (with Stripe Payment gateway), I receive (as the store owner) the email confirming the order twice. And in the order notes, it’s like the Stripe payment has been completed twice whereas I only received the payment once and it’s only one order. I installed the WPM Mail Logging plugin as requested.
It is for sure that the issue is coming from the fact that Stripe sometimes sends a delayed webhook and that the issue is thus coming from Stripe or from the WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway plugin.
Could you please take contact with the Stripe team and analyze why Stripe sent a delayed webhook for that payment? The Stripe payment ID is pi_3RgJftKD9o3frZ5A1V9qYZrO.

All plugins are disabled except WooCommerce and the Stripe payment gateway plugin.
I made some test orders before deactivating all plugins and after deactivating all plugins but I can’t reproduce the issue. I think that the issue only happens with some real payments (as I told you, it does not happen with all my orders) with real contacts with a bank and maybe real payment issues from customers.
I also tried to make test orders with PayPal (with the “sandbox”) (with the WooCommerce PayPal Payments plugin) but I did not succeed making test payments with PayPal. I tried to follow the instructions but it is really too complicated for me. I spent hours trying to understand and trying to do it but I just can’t. I am unable to do it, I don’t understand why it is so complicated. It is made for developers, not for “normal” users. Sorry, I can’t do it. Please make tests on your side.

I am really tired of trying to give you all the information that you ask. I am not a developer or a technician. It takes me hours to give you all the information that you want and make all the tests that you want.
Now I don’t know why but the Test Mode doesn’t work anymore with the Stripe plugin so I can’t test. But I already tested before and I am unable to reproduce the issue with the Test mode. I think that the issue only appears with some of the REAL payments.
Can’t you make the tests by yourself if I give you access to my staging website?

I can now tell you that the issue is not due to the WooCommerce PayPal Payments plugin because I had the same behaviour (with an empty order before the real order) for another order paid with Bancontact (which is a payment method handled by the WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway plugin) and also for another order paid by credit card (which is also a payment method handled by the WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway plugin).
So, obviously the problem is coming from somewhere else.
Did you find something in your plugin? Did you look into that?

It is very strange: when I clicked on the small “V” in the orders’ list for this order (to mark as Completed) yesterday, it showed in the order details as the order had been paid on the 8th of July: https://snipboard.io/1q78G2.jpg (but there is still no note in the order notes that says that the Stripe payment is complete: https://snipboard.io/PNd5vA.jpg). I don’t know if it’s normal behaviour?

Hi,
I think that you did not understand the issue correctly.
I know that when a customer attempts to place an order but the payment fails due to SCA (Strong Customer Authentication) issues, the order typically remains in a “Pending payment” status. If the customer then retries and successfully pays using a different card, the same order is updated from “Pending payment” to “Processing.”
Then you say that “The store owner (you) will not receive a new order notification email AGAIN, because the order was already created earlier and is now just updated — this is expected behavior in WooCommerce.”
But the problem is that I have NEVER received any new order notification email as the store owner for that specific order. It is not that I don’t receive it AGAIN. The problem is that I DO NOT receive any order notification email for some orders.
The problematic order is as follows:
- The order is marked as “Processing” in WooCommerce and has never been in the “Pending Payment” state : https://snipboard.io/Czag5D.jpg
- In the order details in WooCommerce, the order notes only show an intent of payement and no confirmation of payment : https://snipboard.io/mSIVcE.jpg whereas in reality the order has been paid and the payment has been received in my Stripe dashboard. To show you an example of an order who does not have this issue, the order notes are like this : https://snipboard.io/1T8Nbe.jpg. As you can see 2 things are missing in the problematic order(s) : “État de la commande modifié de Attente paiement à En cours.” and “Stripe payment complete (with the ID)”.
- The payment is also missing in the order details at the top of the order in WooCommerce : https://snipboard.io/GWwEbP.jpg. To show you an example of an order who does not have this issue, you can see “Paid on (date)…” at the top of the order: https://snipboard.io/YvoMqX.jpg
As you can see, because of those issues created by your plugin for some orders/payments, WooCommerce does not understand correctly that the order has been paid and thus I don’t receive the new order notification email as the store owner.
