In reply to: How to disable the Live Editor (customize.php)I would also like an answer to this as I have just created a child theme from a free theme and the customisations that were done on the parent theme are not transferred over to the child theme on the live preview. I have only just taken over the site.
Have a look at http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP, That’s what I used. Good luck.
Upped my memory limit to 64MB due to a problem with google analytics plugin and it solved the thumbnail problem! All good.
