To be clear, I already looked around in theme settings as well & could not see a way to fix problem.

Problem page shows same as all other (correct) pages under “Page Attributes” = “Default template”

I’m not clear what’s controlled by WP & what is controlled by theme (Atahualpa). I’m wondering if the problem could come from using last year’s version of theme with current version of WP? Some kinda emergent incompatibility?

    Thanks. I don’t understand code-level stuff very well…

Damn! This is embarrassing. So on the very page where I’m showcasing my (newly acquired) ability to create websites, I can’t figure out how to do the simplest thing on my own website. OK, here’s the new offending page: http://catalyticcom.com/portfolio-2/websites

I want to remove the large word “Websites” from the top of the page so it just begins with “Portfolio: Websites.” Like on all my other pages (example: http://catalyticcom.com/portfolio-2/reports).

Never mind – all I needed was to properly number the pages. Duh. I knew it must be something simple that I was missing.

Sorry, I didn’t understand where to go in the admin panel to make the changes described here, esp. since I thought I’d already found those places, but the page exclusions that I tried to make didn’t work. Turns out I’d been doing the right thing all along, but had used wrong page ID. I was under the impression that the “page ID” number was the number I had given the pages for ranking order purposes in display. Once I discovered that the page ID was actually a different number, & once I used that correct number, then it all worked. Thanks for replies!

Btw, in case anyone else having this problem looks at this: The places I found to enter ID #s for page exclusion were, for the sidebar, in WP panel Appearance -> Widgets, and for top menu bar, in Atuhualpa theme options panel, Header Area -> Page Menu Bar.

Sorry, this noob is easily confused by code. I think I already tried something along the lines of what you’re talking about by going to Widgets, under Appearance, & trying to exclude the unique page number I’d given to the page in question in the setting for Left Sidebar, but that didn’t seem to work. Hope that makes sense…
