I will try to do some mockup to suggest what information we can expect.
For the problem of form, I find a solution. My pages of submit were children of my galery pages. If I don’t set them as children, it works, forms appear correctly. If I put them as children of galery page, forms don’t appear.
The picture post is turn on. If I turn off, I have the same issue, just the message that comments is closed now. You can see on the picture here :

Unfortunately, change comments setting of the page not change anything. If I turned off or on the page where [upg-list] is inserted, I have always the comments of the oldest picture (the last of the list). I try to turn off the publication of my first picture and I have the comments of the second oldest picture now. It seems that plugin “send” comments of the last picture of loop in comment part of the template. I can create a specific template for this page to not show comment system but I think it’s not the best solution.
Nice to heard that we will have an album view. It’s the most important missing feature for me. So I’m excited to see this even more if the breadcrumb become more realistic 🙂 I will probably try to translate in french when this feature will arrive.
