    Okay so I figured this out, thought I would update for anyone else looking in future:
    Add this to functions.php:

    add_filter('woocommerce_paypal_express_checkout_paypal_locale','set_default_language_paypal_express');

}

    thanks, i agree.
    The 2nd plugin is deactivated though. So I would have assumed it wouldnt be having any effect? I mean I can try deleting the 2nd plugin completely for now if you think that will fix the issue.

    So the official reply is:
    “please stop using our plugin”!? Trust me when I say that I want to do this, however its currently not possible to as we are in the middle of a busy sales period and dont want to mess with anything payments related until things calm down a bit.

    I copied the logs from the previous thread to save time. The log output will be the same as the one now. I have all the same plugins installed and running as then.

    Its fine, if you have no solution then forget about it. marked as resolved again, I will switch plugins in a couple of months.

    ya tried all that and it was still there. At the time ,when I went back to update the post it was already marked as resolved for some reason.
    So anyway, I thought I would try again, just in case you knew of some way I could even manually update the code to force the default country?

    Hi,
    yes that sounds like what it is.

    however, I just tried that fix and it didnt work.

    When I click ‘Debit or Credit Card’ button – the default billing address flag is still UK, the postcode field is still UK postcodes and the mobile phone extension +44 (for UK) is still there.

    It says those buttons are “powered by paypal” so I wasnt surprised this didnt work as the fix you suggested was a woocommerce fix, as opposed to a paypal fix…

    Okay, ya neither of those are on the list of ones I have overridden.

    I guess I will investigate the code and see if I can fix it myself.

    If you cannot reproduce it then there isn’t much you can do. If I find the issue I will let you know.

    Okay, fair enough, do you know exact name of the php file I should be looking for? I have a good few overridden but I dont see any related to the widget, unless its like a child template or something…
