  • I have started getting these a lot lately. Never saw them until a few weeks ago; they are now frequent, usually when trying to start a new post, save or update a Post.

So I disabled all the other plugins except W3 Cache; still does the same thing. When I click Submit, the little ball spins for a second, then disappears and the comment never posts. I then deactivated W3 Cache so that Jetpack is the only Plugin, no change.

I really appreciate the assistance; this is basically what I do for a living.

I deactivated everything, still will not enable. Here is the latest from the debug.log after I tried it again:

[10-Aug-2016 01:20:26 UTC] PHP Notice: add_object_page is deprecated since version 4.5! Use add_menu_page() instead. in /home/holein5/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3658

I kept Jetpack installed, but deactivated Comments and it works fine from IE now. Is there any setting in there that might be causing this?

OK, I got a bunch of stuff in the Debug log; anything I should be looking for?
This is the latest entry, right after trying to enable page cache:

[08-Aug-2016 23:54:05 UTC] PHP Notice: add_object_page is deprecated since version 4.5! Use add_menu_page() instead. in /home/holein5/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3658

Thanks. Not used to this yet. Here is what the debug.log says:

    Thanks for the look.
There was no error. I also tried this from work, different network, different browser setup (Windows 7 this time with IE 11) and had the same issue. It might have been awesome slowness.
I will try disabling the other plugins, although some of them require a lot of configuration, so I won’t be able to do this until the weekend.

I have the same problem, but I’m not sure how to do what you are asking.

Aha! I trashed that post and all seems to be working.
I was able to post another entry and everything is still fine!

Thank you sooooo much! You folks rock!

    this issue is resolved.

    (@fytrap)

    No not resolved.
I swtiched to Theme 2010 and it does the same thing.
I then tried to reinstall 2011 from the .zip I downloaded from the main WP site and got this:

    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the theme…

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

    Theme install failed.

Made one called This is a test. Sidebar is gone, Admin bar is gone.
Interestingly though, the pages in the Categories are fine.

    Such as: http://www.holeinthehill.com/?cat=1

Let’s call this closed. I’ll start another thread for the other stuff.
