    Thanks for the reponse.

    Perhaps I’m not being clear enough, or perhaps my theme is tweaking me against default behaviour. I’ll go back to the default theme and try again.

    From the codex:

    “Linked to Page will put a hyperlink on the image and if a visitor clicks on it, they will be taken to a nicely-laid out blog page which features the image. “

    The nicely laid out blog page contains, for me, the image at the same size as was inserted in the post. Clicking that one reveals the original image alone.

    I’d like the original image in the nicely-laid out blog page.

    Choosing “Post URL” allows you to insert a given size to your post (e.g. “small”).

    On vieing the post, the small image is displayed, clicking that takes you an attacment page (using the post template) and clicking that one takes you to the original file.

    Is there any way for the inserted image to link to the original file within a post template page?

    Assume I know how to resize the original image to not break my template if I could do this…
