Well, the thing is, I’m not even trying to use the old theme. I’m running the default theme now – the newest one. I’m not trying to keep my old theme. Let me explain…

My goal is to get a new theme. In order to do that, I first had to upgrade to the newest version of WP. So I started into it.

Now I have the default theme showing, but no content.

This is confusing because doesn’t WP need the database to work? If so, why wouldn’t my content appear? I only have a single db set up on my host, so it must be connected to my WP install correctly, no? I mean, if the db was not connected to the WP install correctly, I imagine it wouldn’t work at all, right?

Man, I wish install4free were still alive!!

    What do you think???

I was running 1.6 and upgradede to the latest (2.7?). It will only show the default theme. There is only one post visible and it is the “new wordpress blog” welcome post. It’s like it is brand spanking new. But again, when I look at the hosting side at the database I can see all my old data. Weird!

    Any ideas???

I followed these exact directions and it still gives me the error. My plugins folder is completely empty – still happens. Where do I go from here?
