Update:
The message does go away once you add a gallery.
Same problem for me too.
An undefined dialog box pops up when trying to dismiss “Thanks for installing NextGEN Gallery! Want help creating your first gallery? Launch the Gallery Wizard. If you close this message, you can also launch the Gallery Wizard at any time from the NextGEN Overview page.”
