It doesn’t look like there is a way to send emails after a new event is published without custom code. The good news is that you can include events automatically in a newsletter using the Post Notifications feature. Here is what you do:
- Go to MailPoet → Emails → Add New → Post Notification
- Choose the MailPoet list(s) to send to
- Add an Automatic Latest Content block (required) and set content type to Event:
Choose the block: https://snipboard.io/ERjSrz.jpg
Select Events: https://snipboard.io/t6Ucyd.jpg - Set a schedule that makes sense for you.
- Activate the notification
I am hopeful this will help.
This looked good on my end so it is now implemented! The caveat is that the event content must be somewhat wide (as the theme allows), otherwise the single column layout will remain as it looked cleaner.
I haven’t forgotten about this. I will take a look in the next day or two and let you know what is involved.
I believe this is addressed in the update released today. Translations for the compact view should use the same translation strategy as elsewhere in the plugin. Let me know if anything is still off though.
It looks like you can configure Polylang to create multiple copies of an event and then the translated event will show up only in the related translation version:

However I noticed also that some of the settings based text could not be shown in both languages and there are a lot of other improvements that could be made (like shared registration capacity for all translations of an event)
This is an improvement I can make in the plugin, however this won’t be ready for the next update and may be a while before it’s implemented as it will take quite a bit of effort. I’m sure other’s are interested in this as well.
There is a cost but Weglot is another immediate option as it translates everything on the page without configuration.Hey again hbee! Since no one else has chimed in I’ll see if I can take a look sometime here. I will let you know within a week what needs to be done.
Thanks Holly!
Thanks for the feedback. I can understand the frustration when a feature you need isn’t available in the free version.
The goal of the free version is to provide a robust event management and registration solution, including free support for users. Features like collecting payments online are part of the Pro version, which helps support ongoing development and support of the plugin.
Event Genius also offers a WooCommerce integration, but many users prefer a simpler built-in payment system that doesn’t require setting up a separate ecommerce platform. That’s why the native payment system is highlighted.
If you ran into any issues while using the plugin, I’d still be happy to help.
Thanks again for the feedback, and best of luck with your project.
Yes. I suppose the layout is relying on a description of the organizer to be included. It does look off when there isn’t that content.
I’ve made a note! I’ll come up with something in future updates.Ahh yes I suppose I chose a poor strategy for the translations for the compact view. Instead of relying on WordPress I used the browser language and JavaScript. This is the cause. I will switch it in the next update!
I think showing a very short version of the title might be feasible and wanted for most sites.
If there are more requests like this I could introduce a PHP filter to change what shows on small screens. Then it could be fully customized.
I’ve made a note about this and it will be considered for a future update!Thank you so much 🙂
Are you thinking a featured image as a very small image that shows? Or like a custom image that works for very small spaces? Do you have an example of something that does this?
Hey hbee,
I’ll let others respond if they have done this but otherwise I will take a look next week and see what might need to be configured for better compatibility. All text is properly handled by the standard WordPress translation system so I would believe many if not all features will work. This was changed in version 1.12 to fit with conventions for internal linking.
