As a follow up – I had to go into Essential Addons Pro for Elementor and turn off most of the extensions there which then allowed the plugin to work with Elementor again. However, this is an unfair workaround as this disables many of the features that I paid for in Essential Addons Pro.
I have experienced repeated conflicts on and off with Essential Addons Pro for Elementor – The Elementor editor will not load until I disable the EA Pro plugin then suddenly everything loads fine. The problem is that the EA Pro is a paid plugin. After one release its fixed, then another update its conflicting again. Wish that Elementor would recognise this and get involved with Essential Addons to stop this.
I started with Divi and the builder was awful. Nice service people but awful plugin. Elementor seems to be working much more consistently BUT as you mentioned, they raised their prices and limited their features (websites). I will probably move on from Elementor as well.
I suppose if the free version works for you, great. However, most of the free widgets provided are already found in Elementor and Elementor Pro which makes the free Essential Addons unnecessary. Whatever you do, don’t buy the “pro” version. Here is what I found after I bought the pro version:
I’ve fought with this thing for 7 months and it just keeps getting worse with every update. Every widget seems to have some dysfunction to it – like random bullet points showing up next to icons or progress charts that don’t display fill colours or an update that breaks the image sizing to massive sizes. Each time I’ve tried to raise a ticket over the last 7 months – I get the same thing: “Oh that’s strange, it looks fine here. Why don’t you refresh the files or clear cache?” or worse “Give us administrator access to your website and we will look at it”. I don’t think so. What a disappointment. I guess I’m off looking for other widget plugins to use alongside Elementor Pro as this one is awful.
This hasn’t changed – its still terrible and I am still finding new bugs and incompatibility in each new update. My disappointment is that I bought the “lifetime” version of the plugin and I’m stuck with it. The only thing I can do is warn others.
