Managed to fix the problems.
I had edited the functions.php file and left two blank lines at the end of the file. Once removed it worked correctly.

Also deleted cookies for the domain name – but still get the error.
Note, the other administrator for this site also gets the same problem.

I have found a workaround to use Event Repeating – Custom – then create a list of dates. Initially I have created a list of events for the 4th Sunday in the month which is not he last Sunday in the month – there would normally only be four of these in a year.
