Updating to 10.0.2 was successful – no crash (as expected).

What we still get, though, is a PHP warning in our error_log file about once every minute. See my original post for the warning produced by v9.8.6. In v10.0.2 it’s the same except for a slightly different line number:

[24-Mar-2025 19:02:44 UTC] PHP Warning: session_start(): Cannot start session when headers already sent in /home/exeterst/staging.exeterstreethall.org/wp-content/plugins/stageshow/include/stageshowlib_dbase_api.php on line 1690

Is this something that other people are getting? Malcolm – could you please take a look at that file/line and see if anything needs changing?

Thanks, Malcolm. That’s reassuring. We’ll wait for the next update (and might first install it on our staging site, just in case….)

Thanks for that quick response. I have passed on your message to our hosting provider. Obviously it will be up to them to decide how to respond.

Chris – thanks once more for your excellent instructions. They worked like a charm and I’ve been able to set up a test payment gateway on our staging site and make a successful test booking. Once one or two other people have managed to do the same I’ll switch to live bookings (where payment is taken) on our staging site, and then once that’s confirmed as working I’ll set it up on our live site (which involves a bit more work as I’ll need a new webhook for it).

The good thing is that I can keep the settings for our PayPal gateway within StageShow and switch back to it if necessary.

Thank you very much, weazel91. Those instructions look like they’re both clear and comprehensive – and thanks for the opportunity to contact you directly if necessary (I’ll try not to bother you).

I’ll give this a go in test mode on our staging site in the near future and will report back.

    Thanks for that, Malcolm.

We had a few people saying they couldn’t access the shopping trolley at various times during the sales period for two events at our community hall (in Brighton, UK). Once we discovered this I put a note on the events asking people to contact me if they had problems and I’d reserve tickets to be paid at the door. I had a few such messages from people, but it’s not possible to see if they all really had the same problem. Interestingly, I had no such messages in the three weeks leading to the second event on 29th Oct. Either nobody with cookies blocked was trying to buy tickets then or something, somewhere, changed so that the problem didn’t present itself.

Thanks for the StageShow plugin. It’s much appreciated.

    Graham
