I tried using the 2013 theme, and WooCommerce worked just fine. So it appears to be just a theme issue. However, I do not know where to go or what to edit to make the drop down menus work.
BTW I am using jquery version 1.10.2
I worked with jquery one more time to see if there is a jquery conflict, but it did nothing.
