Mattyrob,
I have just searched for Subscribe2 again and I am told that version 10.13 is installed.
The coder apparently is y Matthew Robinson, tanaylakhani.
I cannot activate the plugin as I receive the following:
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Warning: require_once(/home3/freedom/public_html/wp-content/plugins/follow/classes/class-s2-core.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home3/freedom/public_html/wp-content/plugins/subscribe2/subscribe2.php on line 69
Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/home3/freedom/public_html/wp-content/plugins/follow/classes/class-s2-core.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/php54/lib/php’) in /home3/freedom/public_html/wp-content/plugins/subscribe2/subscribe2.php on line 69
Any light you may be able to shed on this would be appreciated.
Thanks,
H.
Mattyrob,
I appreciate what you are saying but how do you account for this? It appears at the bottom of the new article post page:
“Subscribe2 Notification Override
Check here to disable sending of an email notification for this post/page [ ]”
I can only assume you have not read the detail in my previous notes if this is not making sense to you.
And the fact that Subscribe2 corrupts when trying to install indicates to me that it in fact actually was taken out by a previous update.
I can assure you that it is still sending emails.
The widget and the form have vanished but there remains a tick box at the bottom of the new post page that allows you NOT to send to the database. It sends to the database by default unless you tick this box – as you will probably be aware.
I have tried to reinstall Subscribe2 but it resulted in a fatal error and will not reinstall.
Do you know if there is any way to access the Subscribe2 database or where it would be situated? Thanks!
Thanks – I have noticed that the emails come with this in the header info:
Client PHPMailer 5.2.7 (https://github.com/PHPMailer/PHPMailer/)
I may thinking that there may be a database somewhere that the Mailer is using to perform a send when a new post is made.
I can’t think of anything else…
