  • I just found why I didn’t have the custom fields and couldn’t add the title slide, it was not checked in screen options.

    da_gh try clicking on the screen options at the top of the page with your gallery and ensure you have custom fields checked.

    One more thing, I have just disabled every plugin and tested to ensure there is nothing incompatible and no change… I just don’t have the required fields.

    I just went to set up a gallery with a title slide and found I don’t have the custom fields for some reason.

    Can you please give us a hand Joel?

    Cheers,
    Ryan

    I just realized the image quality issue is due to the images being resized to a smaller size before I uploaded them.

    But the thumbnail issue is still present.

    Unfortunately these images were uploaded via the plugin uploader 2 times already – I just did it via the uploader a 3rd time and still the thumbnails are broken.

    I also noticed this time, even though they are the same files the image quality is extremely low on some images that previously was good.

    What incompatibilities does your plugin have?

    Thanks,
    Ryan

    Hi weblizar,
    No the site hasn’t moved and I only installed the plugin yesterday.

    I created this second test slider (so it isn’t formatted correctly) for the purpose of sharing – the original is on a password protected page: http://www.rjames.net/en/slider-test

    Any help is appreciated!

    Hi there,
    I have the same issue however when adding autoHeight: true, the height of the slideshow changes so I added the following custom CSS for others to consider as an option, not the best option but it works for my purposes and will likely work for others out there.

    This solution will work if the theme being used is not responsive or if you don’t require a responsive slider.

    .sp-image-container {
    max-height: 460px;
    background: #c9c9c9;
    }
    .sp-image {
       height:460px !important;
        width:auto !important;
    }

    As you will see the downside to this is the image height is fixed meaning the images are no longer responsive, for me and the specific purposes behind needing this slider it is ok for now but for others people and purposes it will be unacceptable.

    As I have a white background, when the vertical images appear the arrows can no longer be seen so I have defined a background color to the slider container to ensure the arrows can be seen regardless of what image is showing.

    Good luck!

    Using some custom CSS in the customizer I have solved my problem, below is what I have (so far):

    .entry .post-meta, .entry p, .entry .tag-links, .pagination-nav, .centered-content .more-link, .centered-content .wrapper pre, .centered-content .wrapper dl, .centered-content .wrapper ol, .centered-content .wrapper ul, .centered-content .wrapper address, .centered-content .wrapper table, .centered-content .wrapper h1, .centered-content .wrapper h2, .centered-content .wrapper h3, .centered-content .wrapper h4, .centered-content .wrapper h5, .centered-content .wrapper h6 {
        max-width: 90%;
    }
    .blog-featured-image {
    max-width: 300px !important;
    float: left;
    margin-right: 20px !important;
    margin-left: 20px !important;
    }

    I just did a little playing around with plugins and to give you a feel for the type of design that I want I used “Blog Manager Light” and here is the page: http://www.rjames.net/en/test-blog-page/

    It took a bit of custom CSS to achieve this but I don’t like how it plays with the template, when the site is resized this page does resize but the thumbnail gets too small, when you click on a category or author in the meta section it goes to the default SoloFolio design so it really isn’t that workable as more than an immediate bandaid solution.

    Cheers!

    Thanks for that Arnold, I will have a look at it!

    Ryan

    Hi Joel,
    Like Arnold I love the theme but also want to remove the URL hashes but in my case there is a functional problem I am trying to resolve. I would prefer to keep the hashes for bookmarking but the ability to bookmark a specific image is not as important to me as resolving the issue below.

    On my front page (rjames.net) I have an auto-playing gallery cycling through some images, when a menu link is clicked on just before the next image is about to show the gallery overrides the click on the menu item and the user isn’t moved to the page they clicked on. I don’t understand how this is happening as the inclusion of a URL hash is only referencing an anchor that is already loaded in this case, it isn’t requesting a new file so the click of the menu link shouldn’t be affected but unfortunately it is.

    I hope that makes sense!

    To reduce the problems I have set the speed to 4-seconds from 3-seconds and am considering moving it to 5-seconds, I would prefer the images to cycle every 3-seconds.

    Thanks for any help you may be able to provide!

    Cheers,
    Ryan

    OK I see, when the plugin updated the language switcher widget options did change to force the front page.

    Thanks for the quick response!

    Hi Joel,
    Thanks for the quick reply, when you posted your reply I was actually editing my previous post.

    For now I guess I will have to do without JetPack and look forward to when SoloFolio and JetPack are best buds!

    I would definitely agree that this should be in the documentation that otherwise is very good. I was also impressed that SoloFolio plays nicely with Polylang as it is the 1 plug-in that I cannot live without as I service both English and Portuguese speaking markets.

    Thanks again,
    Ryan

    I just found the problem and it seems to be a compatibility issue with JetPack.

    I have just turned off and on all JetPack modules that I planned on using to check what may be breaking the theme however it is still broken until JetPack is completely disabled.

    For me this is very disappointing as I use JetPack for multiple features on other sites that I run and was hoping to use some on this site also.

    Do you have plans to integrate your theme for JetPack?

    Thanks!
    Ryan

    Hi Joel,
    I love what I see in the theme, it is exactly what I have been looking for but… sorry mate – there is always a but… I am having the same issue with the fatal error, I have tried the latest version you linked to however when I use that theme the gallery doesn’t load correctly – it looks exactly like the visual editor does – luckily it isn’t a “live” site as such so I can leave it there for you to see at http://www.rjames.net/en

    Thanks,
    Ryan
