I see what you mean: the issue occurs when you’re in the backend and want to view the website as preview.

Unfortunately, there’s nothing I can do about that. The row from the dashboard definitely overlaps the sticky header area. However, this only happens when viewing the website in the backend, not in the frontend. A change would only be possible if the first row of the dashboard would be hidden (e.g. via a shortcut). Unfortunately, this option isn’t currently available and would really be a feature that would need to be offered via WordPress. However, I can’t imagine that such a feature would be incorporated into the core.

Thank you for using my plugin.
Sorry, but I’m afraid I don’t quite understand the issue. I’ve created a video here showing how I edit the template. In the backend, the header isn’t sticky, but you can see the entire header if you click the ‘Show template’ option under ‘View’.
If I haven’t understood the problem correctly, a further explanation would be helpful (perhaps with a screenshot).

Thanks for your reply.
That’s not a problem for me: I just have to remember to specify the page for maintenance with the “maintenance” template without header and footer under Settings > Reading (homepage). Then it works fine.

And when I deactivate maintenance mode, I have to specify the start page again under Settings > Reading.

I’ve already set this up on several websites.

I added header and footer to the maintenance template, but unfortunately the result is the same: The start page is displayed in this case with header and footer. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Unfortunately, I don’t have much time to test it yet and can only take a quick look at it right now.

I’m really sorry, but the issue is still not resolved in my instance: The page specified under Settings > Reading (Start Page) is still being displayed instead of the intended “Achtung: Wartung” page with the maintenance template.

I will continue testing next week.

Or do you always end up back on either the front page / latest posts page?

I always end up on the page I specified in Settings > Reading.

Also, do you have any cache running? And do you have the bypass option enabled?

No cache plugin is installed—the bypass option is disabled.

I have now set up another older test site (using TT4) accordingly.
Here, too, I had to set the page for maintenance under Settings > Reading so that the main page (Home) does not appear.

As I said, I really like the plugin and this isn’t a big problem for me because the changeover is quite quick. But of course it would be nicer if the plugin reacted automatically when a single (!) page is created with the maintenance template.

I deleted the maintenance.php file. The file was probably still there from a backup, because I initially had the website at tastewp and only later migrated it to my web space.

Unfortunately, the issue still persists even after deleting the maintenance.php file.

Hi @areziaal
Even if I deactivate all plugins except your plugin, the “start page” is displayed, using the maintenance template instead of the standard template, when maintenance mode activated. This is the page I have set as the homepage in Settings > Reading.

However, the goal would be to display the page “Attention: Maintenance” which I created specifically for this purpose and to which I assigned the “maintenance” template.

No problem – to clarify: I was actually logged out of the front end. I logged in to the website using Chrome. I viewed and checked the website in Firefox.

No stress – it’s not urgent. 😉
