Thinking that actually configuring PostSMTP correctly might solve this problem, I have been attempting to complete the configuration and have run into the same problem I had before, which is that I can’t setup OAuth 2.0 permissions. I tried (again) to follow directions in https://www.cloudways.com/blog/post-smtp-mailer-fork-of-wordpress-postman-smtp-plugin/?id=339490#step13. It is a bit out of date and I may be confused about something. I don’t know if this should be an internal or external because this isn’t in the instruction. I made it internal.
When I try to “Grant permission with Google.” I always get error:
Forbidden
You don’t have permission to access this resource.Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
The file and directory permissions are set according to the standard described in https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-fix-file-and-folder-permissions-error-in-wordpress/
755 for directories
644 for files
(public_html directory has 750)Are you saying either that these permissions are incorrect or that some other permission is necessary?
Thanks.
Oops! So I guess the only permission in question is that user_friends needs to be re-authorized/reviewed. And submitting that for review asks a bunch of questions which I have no idea how to answer. Why is this so complicated?
I searched for info on FTS and user_friends permission and came up with noting useful. Can you please point me to the info you referenced earlier?
Thanks.
Sorry I missed all those efforts for communication.
I’m really confused about the permissions, though. And it is really Facebook’s problem, I think. They are treating this like I wrote the app and know what is going on behind the scene, but I have no idea what permissions the plugin requires. Why doesn’t Facebook get that answer once from you, the author, so that all your users who are simply using a plugin don’t have to request things they know nothing about.
If you tell me the permissions required, I think I can do the mechanics to work through the Facebook developers labyrinth.
Thanks, Spencer!
Wow! Why did I not hear about this earlier?!? I mean, I did hear some things from Facebook, but had no idea what, as a practical matter, that meant for this plugin. I was certain that if it really made a difference, we’d hear something from you.
Anyway, water over the dam.
I clicked the button and got the new Page ID and Access Token. I generated the new (lengthy) shortcode and pasted it into the widget. And it works!
But you said I need to get additional permissions and go through another review process. What are the permissions I need? (I miss-stated above. I currently have email, public_profile, and user_friends on the FTS Social Feed app.)
Thank you.
To add to the info above:
Facebook for Developers / App Review / My permissions indicates I have email and public_profile permissions already. Do I need to request other permissions?

In reply to: [Simple Social Icons] Update Hosed WidgetSame issue. See center footer on: http://www.lwvaustin.org
I can’t really do all the things that are discussed in the troubleshooting guide, but I did some of them and it was interesting.
I ran the Theme Check on my theme, which is Genisis – Education Child – by StudioPress, and there were many issues, all of which I had no idea what to do about them.
I did a “Live Preview” with the Twenty Fifteen Theme and the problem with the calendar did not exist. So my simplistic assumption is that there is some issue with my theme, but I have no idea how to diagnose and cure that.
The URL for the calendar is: http://lwvaustin.org/calendar/ – in case you might identify anything from viewing the page or the source code for the page.
Thanks,
HalThanks for the procedure to follow. I’ll have to do this late tonight because this is a live site. I’ll post results tomorrow.
I’ve placed the image in my Dropbox and shared it. Here’s the URL: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vj0hyg81arkf8gg/Calendar%20example.png?dl=0
Thanks for taking a look.
I forgot to say this applies to Simple Calendar. Oops!

In reply to: [Advanced Image Styles] ShadowsIn particular, my default style has a border and shadow-box, but sometimes I want to remove both of these. AIS currently allows me to set the border to 0, but the shadow remains.
Thanks!
