  • Sorry guys. Yoast only works with the Divi theme now? I am facing the exact same issue. Too many people are reporting this. It has to be a problem with Yoast 20.9. My sites use the Enfold theme. Some with the Classic Editor and some with the Block Editor. The same thing happens on all of them. Hosted on different providers as well. Cleared server, browser caches and tried incognito on Safari and Chrome.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

If you see the link I shared, that’s where I went first. They are asking ME to come here and fight their fight.

I copied what their response was. I will share your response with them.

I shouldn’t be doing this either. And I SHOULD not be scalded for someone else’s development responsibility and I agree. The problem in in the theme.

The problem was not just showing up on mobile. It was WordPress 6.0 that changed the behavior of the CSS with the Block Editor. I had to rebuild the block and add an additional Block around both side by side blocks.

Personally, I don’t appreciate these changes that make ME rebuild the site. I don’t like the Gutenberg editor. It is not professional-looking and it’s much harder to work with.

@devnihil for some reason I didn’t receive a notification for the first reply. Go figure.

I checked the link you shared (that’s quite interesting so thank you) and I see under Other the following:

disable_wpseo_json_ld_search – disables the search potentialAction that we add on every page if you simply return true on it.

Should I add this filter to the functions.php like this?

    add_filter( ‘disable_wpseo_json_ld_search’, ‘__return_true’ );

Or would I be missing out on something?

    Thank you in advance!

What I understand is that you do not provide support for your plugin. Free or Paid. I had your Paid Plugin once and submitted a ticket where category pages were blocked from rendering for your Local SEO plugin. I don’t know if you ever fixed it, but I ended up removing your low quality plugin as I got zero support and took care of schema on my own. Your email – that I still have – stated you would not address the BUG because it was low priority for you. Creating 404 pages, was low priority for you????

Are you doing the same here? There has to be some code that can be added to add The Events Calendar plugin’s events to your sitemap. Furthermore, many may not have noticed this yet. All they have to do is go to Google Search Console and check URLs Indexed NOT on Sitemap.

Both your allowing Pagination and not including URLs like events that should be included go against what should be done for SEO.

So, will you provide the FREE support that should go with your FREE Plugin or will you try to get money on the FREE wordpress forum by withdrawing support? Asking for someone else (a user) on the forum to pitch in is shameful of any plugin support.

    Hi @mikes41720

Agree. It should be included, Events are all accessible and public. Here’s one: https://conversionsciences.com/event/how-data-has-changed-the-way-we-design/ and you’ll be able to see it. I looked at the code and it’s set to index, follow so I don’t quite get the reason it’s not on the Yoast sitemap.

    Ideas? Suggestions? Fixes?

    TIA!

    Hi @ahmedkaludi

Any news? Enabling Change Pagination Links to /amp option shows the first page properly (up to first page break) but when clicking on Page 2 link, it gives a 404 page not found.

Disabled right away as getting a boatload of 404s would kill the website’s rankings.

Hopefully you get to fix this soon. Not paginating makes AMP pages slow. Really slow. This being a weddings website, it is very image heavy. No way around it but to have the plugin work as it used to over a year ago.

    Thank you!

    Hi Ahmed,

I did and had to disable it as the second and third pages display content not from the Custom AMP Editor section of your plugin.

I am glad to see that the first paginated page is actually fixed and pulling info from the Custom AMP Editor section of your plugin.

The same thing needs to happen to the following pages.

This is what I see on the second page (it’s not pulling the content from the Custom AMP Editor section as the shortcodes have been removed on the Custom AMP Editor content):

Thank you @mazedulislamkhan I will update to the latest version of Yoast, validate the fix and get back to you here to share the results.

    Crossing my fingers.

I am having the same issue starting on 3/8 I created the FAQ page with Yoast FAQ Block.

You made a change to the plugin 15.9.1
    Release Date: March 4th, 2021
Removes mainEntityOfPage from our FAQ Schema block output and moves it to mainEntity on the WebPage output, fixing a Google parse issue with those FAQ blocks.

Now Search Console flags this as an error.

Please provide a fix for your fix. Thanks.

I had Kinsta restore file permissions. That allowed me to run the Start SEO data opt. This time the progress bar was visible while it processed. Yet the column was not visible or available to be selected as a screen option.

Went into phpmyadmin and found the values did exist on wp_yoast_indexable table. Disabled all plugins on Staging, cleared server and browser’s caches (I do this after every single change but in this case I think it’s important to highlight it) the columns was enabled and visible.

I reactivated the plugins one by one checking one by one if it affected that column. The answer was no. None of the plugins had any issues with Yoast whatsoever and the column remained visible.

Performed the same tasks in the Live site. It’s fixed.

I believe that for some reason I have found that The Events Calendar and Yoast have issues. When Yoast is updated, the event urls go 404. I found a fix for when this happens (but with Yoast updating every week, this becomes quite annoying so you may want to check into your compatibility with them as they are a pretty popular plugin as well – but this is not my business – up to you)

Anyway, I investigated, researched and tested (there were many other steps taken to figure this all out) and took care of it.

Leaving you the resolution just in case some other lost soul out there needs it.

    Cheers!!

The articles don’t have much information. Those permissions are always available to all plugins and I assume that the table name is wp_yoast_seo_links as it’s the only one that clearly has something to do with links.

This table has to hold both outgoing and incoming values somewhere.

Question, is Yoast PHP 7.4 compatible?

    Thread Starter havig

    (@havig)

    Hi @priscillamc

Of course. I will go through these articles and see if I can figure out a way to make this work.

On my end, I am pretty appalled about the assumption that women cannot be developers (or be geekier or much more capable and experienced than men) still exists after 43 years of being in the marketing/IT industries in all capacities. I would have noticed if there were errors or lack of permissions if I was fully in charge.

But thank you for these articles. I will get back to you regarding what I find. I have a couple of additional ideas I could try. Waiting for the client to give me their approval.

    Happy new year!

    Hi @priscillamc ,

The developer did not find any conflicts or errors. I don’t know what Yoast Premium support could do if you are not able to solve the issue with a plugin feature not appearing here.

But maybe there is one thing you could help me with. I cannot find an article from Yoast (or maybe it was a ticket) that I recall addressed the manual creation of a table to hold this particular value as this bug happened before your plugin update and people were asking for a solution. And if my memory doesn’t fail me, it was something I could ask the developers to handle.

If you could send me a link to it where the names of the tables and fields to be created are detailed, I will pass it on to the developers to execute.

    Thank you!

    Hi @priscillamc ,

This is a single site install.

    Ok. here’s the update:
    1- client’s developer run WP-CLI
The output from the –reindex so we have it for reference:

This will clear all previously indexed objects. Are you certain you wish to proceed? [y/n] y
    Indexing posts 100% [=============================================] 0:09 / 0:10
    Indexing terms 100% [=============================================] 0:01 / 0:11
    Indexing general objects 100% [===================================] 0:00 / 0:00
    conversionsciencesdev@iUA-conversionsciencesdev:~/public$

2- Nothing changed and the incoming links would not appear.
3- Made a backup and run the SEO optimization process from the Yoast plugin itself. It took about 1 second and it was done.
4- Checked if incoming links was available of displaying on Posts: Nothing.
5- Returned to Tools> and Start SEO Data Optimization button was enabled once more. Run it again. Go back to 4, rinse, repeat.

The link you requested (again, too basic) https://ibb.co/hY17TD9

This is not working. I am sure that it took 1 second because this didn’t happen.

    Ideas? Solutions?

    Havi
