I had a hard time understanding the information on that link you provided.But after clicking on the WordPress link toi the right of the page I got these instructions and this is exactly what I did :

To import from a WordPress export file into a WordPress blog follow these steps.

Log into that blog as an administrator.
Go to Manage: Import (or Tools:Import in 2.7+)in the blog’s admin panels.
Choose “WordPress” from the list.
Upload this file using the form provided on that page.
You will first be asked to map the authors in this export file to users on the blog. For each author, you may choose to map to an existing user on the blog or to create a new user
WordPress will then import each of the posts, comments, and categories contained in this file into your blog

And as I mentioned, all the content seems to be in the files but not populated on the actual blog itself.

I am starting to add posts manually from the old blog, but I would still like to try to import the whole thing if possible, it would take forever. All my media files and tags and categories transferred, but for some reason the posts wont populate even though there are in the phpmyadmin.
