In reply to: Shortcodes Ultimate Nivo slider instructionsI’m struggling with this also. Is it even possible to use this with uploaded images that are not assigned to a post or category? I normally use another slider tool but it conflicts with Shortcodes Ultimate even in Compatibility Mode so I was hoping I could replace it with the built-in one. But so far… no joy!

In reply to: Password protecting pages — how does it work??The plugin I recommended works great although it does depend on your user following through and clicking the log out button. But AFAIK WP itself has no real way to address this issue.
BRILLIANT! Thank you SO much. All I had to do was exclude the two pages with the carousels on them! YEAH! THANK YOU!
I can live with this but those same pages still do not show the highlight whereas all my others do. Any thoughts on that?

In reply to: Password protecting pages — how does it work??Try the plugin I recommended above. It’s free and easy and safer than the built in password protection which leaves you logged in (not good if on a public computer).

I’ve determined that the recommended fix to wpf.class.php that was previously applied for adjusting the post icons from vertical to horizontal seems to be the cause of this white screen. Now I have to figure out how to re-fix that issue as the old fix no longer seems relevant. I can’t find the same code to tweak in the wpf.class.php file anymore! It might be useful to have a little more guidance for newbies. Now that I know where to look I see the check box and it does work. I installed it on another site and got that error again. It’s disconcerting. So getting rid of it next update is a good idea. I’d suggest two brief sentences in the plug-in interface that says something like: Enable in Settings-Writing, then check in top right of any item you’re editing.
I heard back from the author immediately and he was very helpful. I’d missed a key factor…
The reason it’s not working is that your icons aren’t named the same as mine.
I thought I had it in my FAQ, but apparently I forgot to include it. I will add it in a later version.
Your icons should be named the same as mine.
AND….he also said… sorry for not responding to that thread. I’ve got a lot going on right now. I’m working essentially 12-14 hours per day and the new Star Wars MMO just released, so I haven’t dedicated a lot of time to checking in on my plugin. I usually just wait for e-mails to come in to help people that way.
Well that was not satisfactory. I was able to replace the 6 icons with the ones I wanted but only 5 of them displayed. I tried to add a new folder for 25px images but they’re not seen. I ended up just using the 32s and using CSS to space them better. I wanted 25 so they’d all fit in one line and the 16px are just too small for my needs.
Mark, that’s smart. Of course if you ever upgrade they’ll be overwritten. I wanted them to be a different size than is provided. I was hoping by using custom images the size I wanted they’d display at that size. I’ll try your idea and see if that works for me. Thanks.
Too bad the developer isn’t responding to this. I know I have the correct paths (verified by host) and NADA! I really liked this widget. I’m going to try emailing him and if I get anything I’ll post back here.

sort option under the Additional settings section through the editor’s directory button. Default is date_created. The description next to it is “Use the input ID ( example: 1.3 or 7 or ip )”. This was not readily apparent that this is for sorting.
I figured out that putting the sort=8 in the shortcode didn’t do it BUT putting that 8 in the additional settings section per above did the trick. So one issue down.
NOW…if someone can help me figure out how to force this to separate by regions with a heading for each region instead of repeating the region on each line… is that even possible?!
