The same is happening to me. I could not access the dashboard when the Polylang plugin is active.
I have used the method of deactivating the polylang folder (wp-content / plugins / polylang) by ftp, changing its name to “polylang_backup” to at least enter the dashboard.
But I need it to work with the activated polylang. We have a lot of content with the customer already translated.

My active theme is custom and has only active these plugins: duplicate post, multi post thumbnails and single post template.
