Whoops, missed your last post, so ignore the Filezilla post, which didn’t work anyway. My lack of comprehension was based on not understanding you were referring to control panel on my host rather than the dashboard of my wordpress site. I’m trying to rename the nextgen plugin folder right now…

UPDATE
I have installed Filezilla and attempted to access the site that way, but login still fails every time.
What is my next step?

Thanks for responding! The problem is, I can’t access my dashboard *at all*–can’t get past the RunTimeException page. I haven’t found any way in so far…
