In reply to: [WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway] Express Checkout Is Removing Cart ItemsThank you for your reply. I will update both here and there as they cater for different users – both of whom should be aware of this bug.
I’ve just noticed a new release (9.7.0) for the WooCommerce Stripe Gateway.
I’ve updates in my test environment and the issue still remains.
So far there has been no response to the GitHub ticket which has been open 5 days.

In reply to: [WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway] Please add NZ BECS Direct Debit option@mosesmedh sorry to jump in – but I would like to enable NZ Becs too and I believe this comment from you is incorrect:
“According to the documentation here: WooCommerce Stripe Additional Payment Methods, the plugin currently supports Australian BECS, not New Zealand BECS.”
They do support NZ BECS too: see this in Stripe https://docs.stripe.com/payments/nz-bank-account
So 9.5.2 is also buggy, that appears to be what I’m getting here? Guess I won’t be updating yet… Following this thread, thank you for updates.
@imodouglas thank you for your offer to help – I don’t have a support ticket open, I detailed my issues in this thread: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/your-customers-cannot-use-stripe-on-checkout-3/
The main issues have been poor software releases causing big issues across many sites. I know shi1t happens, but honestly, this has caused us massive dramas.
So where can I send an invoice for the amount of time this has taken for us to spend solving and battling our customers’ issues – all because these bugs were introduced by poor programming?
Are we expected to ‘suck it up’ because it’s a free plugin? This will have lasting ramifications upon the credibility of woocommerce overall. To release such poorly tested code is unacceptable?
Yes, I am aware that new plugin releases should be tested on a staging site first, but the reality is, most WP sites have 10 or more plugins, if all of them release updates weekly, do you think it’s feasible to update in a staging environment first? And then you might have 10 – 100 customers or more. It is not feasible. And this is the weakness of WordPress and Woocommerce > the code is “free” and therefore is is not backed by resources that say Apple, Google or others employ to check the veracity of the software.
Yes, I am having a whinge. But where is the public apology from Woocommerce? Honestly, this feels like another win for Shopify – these kind of incidents are such a terrible blight on the professionalism of WordPress.
Why have you marked this topic as resolved? I did not mark this resolved. I believe this matter has not been resolved. Stripe checkout is still disconnecting our clients and when they try to reconnect it fails multiple times.
While we love Woo and thank the stars for such a great platform, these API changes have not been communicated effectively – and have been very badly handled indeed. I am not a person to usually complain, but this has caused such dramas across more than 10 websites we run …. many requiring new Stripe accounts – causing problems because suddenly no payment system available.
I am not sure who has initiated these changes (whether Stripe, Xero or Woocommerce) – however, it has been very poorly communicated and then “left to users” to discover the problems and solve them as with release 9.5.0 and 9.5.1 that effectively disconnected all Stripe accounts without warning.
Simply adding a blog post to a website is not enough. There should be advisory emails and warning notices in the dashboards of affected sites, at the very least. Whether that should have been sent by Stripe or Woo is up for debate, but certainly the severity of these changes has not been well advertised.

In reply to: [WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway] Can’t Connect to Stripe with 9.5.1Take a look at this:
https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/your-customers-cannot-use-stripe-on-checkout-3/
If the reason you can’t connect to Stripe is due to ineligible account, you will need to create a new Stripe account.
Otherwise, please provide more information / error messages and details, so other users can see the issue.
I understand that this issue was originally caused by a faulty software update in 9.5.0 and that was released (in my time zone ) at 11pm at night on a Saturday, which got automatically applied as a security level patch – which then disabled the Woo > Stripe integration.
Our customers (multiple sites were affected) then had no payment method available on their websites. This has led to a loss of orders and of course, some difficult email conversations around where to lay the blame….
Now – I am not knocking Woocommerce, I love this platform, but this is the kind of thing that makes customers want to move to Squarespace, or Shopify…. this kind of poorly released software having affected business income is unacceptable…..
With that said, they did quickly release 9.5.1 – but unfortunately, the damage was already done and this has taken hours to resolve.
The update 9.5.1 did remove the disconnection issue – but I gather it has introduced performance issues…. so the matter is not really resolved. It would be good to hear from Woo about this:

Yes the same issue here…. this is a change by woocommerce – it’s not the fault of this plugin. Basically, woocommerce have wrapped their payment section into the marketing function, so if you disable the marketing box, the payment section gets hidden too.
Thank you for this wonderful plugin. I hope you can find a fix.
All the best.
“Version 9.5.1 of the WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway has just been released and includes fixes for several issues introduced in 9.5….”
Very frustrating indeed. This is the kind of thing that should be avoided by a professional software business. Clearly the process for release needs to be tightened.
I reached out to Stripe and they told me it is an issue with Woocommerce and there is nothing they can do. Woocommerce released a faulty software update saying the Stripe account was disconnected, when in fact it was not. When we disconnected the Stripe connection in order to reconnect it, now we are unable to do so as it says the account is ineligible….
Looks to be a faulty plugin update. I guess if you pay nothing for software, you can expect poor results? Or is that being too cynical?
Anyway, looks like the only way to solve this is to create a new Stripe account….
I am also seeing this issue and opened a new ticket – but not sure if should continue this one?
When I try to reconnect to Stripe, it says Account Ineligible. I have reached out to Stripe and they say this is a woocommerce issue. So now I don’t have any Stripe payment method working….. help!

In reply to: [InfiniteWP Client] Is this software still actively being developed? Thanks Asvin – good to hear that! Yes, if you could please post some details of what is in development and ETA that would be great.
As for suggestions, my main one would be to keep your blog and socials updated and provide a space where users can interact, such as a forum?
