index.php file was gone, must of over looked in my frantic attmept to fix the issue before the owner found out. whew gald that fixed it. it was not in my deleted files or I would have noticed it.

okay so I scraped the lmbbox_smileys and someone was telling kecia how to setup the wp_grins. They said upload the php file and then add <?php wp_grins(); ?> to comments.php above textarea(just Ctrl+F) and do a search for it. It works!!!! After doing this I read over the readme file and it does not mention anywhere about adding that code snippet to comments.php. I am quickly realizing that these people that write plugins assume you know every in and out of wordpress and how to to program in php and maybe a little java. Heck if I knew php I could write my own. any questions about this and you can reply to this message. I here to help the beginnners like myself that need to know the basics. Oh yea and for some reason under wp-includes/images my smilies folder was called smiles so I had to rename it to get the smilies to show up in my comment form. These are clickable too!

I could not get any help with wp_grins and it was not working so we looked around for something that actually worked. We found lmbbox_smileys. It had more documentation to it. I really did that care that it had like 150 smileys heck I just wanted 4 or 5 general ones. I uploaded the files to where it said to, then under the reame file It says to add quick tags and it will add smileys but I did not like those huge tags so I quickly took the quick tags off. I then copied the code from the readme file to my comments.php file like it said. I used crtl+f to find textarea and placed the code right above it so I found remember where i stuck in case I wanted to remove it. on me site under commetents it then said that smileys where disabled and to contact the admin to have them enabled. I am the admin so who do I contact? OH yea another piece of code can be copied over that gives a link to a new window which displays the smiley, but I went with having them directly on my comments page. Anyways, I emailed the maker of this plugin not expecting a response but within a few hours he sends me a message back asking me to look the following. Under your wordpress screen go to Options the writing and make sure that Convert emoticons like 🙂 and 😛 to graphics on display
is checked. Then go to Options LMB^Box Smileys and see if anything is under Comment Form Display Settings excpet for the headings Smiley List Name, Don’t Display, Display With Title, Display Without Title. Mine did have anything under it except for none. Make sure that Display Smileys in Comments is checked yes. Go to Manage LMB^Box Smileys and make sure that the directory path is set right and the url path is set right. go down to Edit Smileys Lists and select sync smileys list and then a sync smileys lists button shows up for you to click. If you get an error on the top of the page then you probably have the directory path incorrect, mine was to start with. Now I have smileys on my comments page, but I still cannot click them to add them, I have to type in the : ) or whatever to get it to show up, once i find out how to click them I will post it too. If you have problems with it you can email the creator, his site is on the readme file.

I’ve searched the site and did not see anything that is helpful. I am using WP 2.2. Seems like I will have to look into it further and post what I find for everyone else.

still have not received that email. I just went into the DB and reset the password there, easier to do it myself. lets see how long I can use that login before it becomes invalid. Seriously why would not take a password and then all of a sudden take it.
