That’s at least part of it. When I used my alternative profile, I though I was sending email from Yahoo to gmail, but it was behaving a bit strangely tbh – would even let me in to check my profile info. So I may have crossed some other wires back there too.
Hi Vinny,
Managed to resolve the issue by creating a new email account and sending notifications to that. Maybe there’s some compatibility issue with bbPress and Gmail?
Thanks for all your help!
Yes, Vinny, I read it. The only part I haven’t tried yet is posting as a separate admin, as this wouldn’t happen in my business anyway.
I’ve confirmed the ‘send messages in the background’ is unchecked for both topics and replies, and installed the WP Email Logging plugin like you suggested. It caught the outgoing notification when I created a test topic, but the email account it was supposedly sent too is still not reporting it. Nothing in the spam folder again.
I’ll try posting as a separate user again, but I suspect it’s not going to make a difference. Will let you know if it works.
P.S. Could my using an https server be part of the problem?
Just to confirm, it’s not being sent to my spam either (can’t be too careful…)
Thanks for the quick response Vinny. I’ve ticked the boxes under creating topics and replies like you’ve suggested, and I see the box is automatically ticked now.
Unfortunately, I’m still not receiving notifications when I test it out by creating a new topic or reply. I’ve also double-checked that my gmail account is receiving email, and tried posting to the forum under a different account. What am I missing here?
