- Add a second “Update Post” step after assigning the image, with a 5–10 second delay in Make.com, .
I do 2 min between image upload and post
- Or create the post as Draft, wait a few seconds, and then publish.
I will try this one it is easy I guess

If your posting method is “Share a link” → please verify that the og:image tag on the post URL shows the correct featured image set by Make.com.
-> yes when I check the post code, all is ok, I compared with an old one, exactly the same
If your posting method uploads the image to Facebook → ensure Make.com assigns the featured image using WordPress’ native featured_media field (not only jetpack_featured_media_url).
-> this I don’t have the hand on it, make you create a media/upload, no options, gets an id when you create the post and refer to it..
If possible, share one example post URL or a screenshot of your Make.com flow — we can point out the exact step that needs adjustment.

Let us know the result after increasing the delay.

general answer, how comes that a manual posting would display correctly the image preview if the native featured_media_url would not be setuped correctly? or it is a matter of timing only ? or when loading the post first time it is doing something .. I understood that jetpack url is calculated from featured url whatever

and the order is upload image, get image id and create post.
I will increase timing to see, changing for draft mode could create other issues, I have automatic posting on linkedin and twitter as well… linkedin I can do from Make, but twitter no.
I’m suspecting also something strange
while using zapier to access post , for the make posts media url is in variable : jetpack_featured_media_url and featured_media-url is empty
posts created from wordpress plugin both are populated with the same image url…

as well you need tags, the template of your automatic posting is important. on my side I do something like this
