I solved this issue by updating the core files from within WP Admin (/wp-admin/update-core.php). And that is probably the easiest and quickest way to update the core files anyway.
It was a strange issue since /wp-admin/index.php was the only URL to throw this error. All other URLs in the dashboard were working fine.
