Thank you for the response, jrevillini… Out of desperation because the website was supposed to be launching, I renamed wp-config-sample.php to wp-config.php and reentered some of the required information. That allowed me to deactivate and delete wp-super-cache and restore the website to normal. It’s supposedly a must have for WP websites, but I’m now afraid to reinstall it, since a few days ago, another plugin had practically destroyed the website causing the loss of 7 days of work.
I wonder if there’s a WP optimization service that one can hire.
