It is finally becoming becoming clear to me… Under Events > Settings I found the following explanation:
Repeated events are similar to recurrences, but each event is independent of each other with its own page on your site and entirely separate bookings. You can mass-edit the recurrences by editing your repeating event.
However, I could not find any explanation about that in your documentation. Would be nice if https://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/recurring-events/ also explained the difference with repeating events.
And I still think it is a bug that the excerpt of a recurring event does not show in the event list. So I’ll add ‘bug report’ to the tags now.
Additional information. Just realized that the plugin offers two ways to add a recurring event:
- Events > Events
- Events > Repeating Events
When you follow Events > Add New Event, you still get all the options to make the event recurring. This is what I did probably. However, despite these options being present, the event ends up in the list with all Events, not the list with all Repeating Events. And then the excerpt is not displayed in the list.
However, when I go to Events > Repeating Events and add the same event there with the same occurrences, it ends up in the list with all Repeating Events, and on the front-end will appear in the list with an excerpt.
Ok I had just added a recurring event to the calendar so far. The excerpt appears if I add a regular, so non-occuring event. So the problem seems to be just with recurring events.

In reply to: [Register Plus Redux] User meta data disappearing for additional fieldsJust to elaborate on the problem reported above: the data only disappears for users that have been approved. As long as users are unverified/unapproved, their data does not disappear.
Perhaps that additional info is helpful in finding a solution? I hope somebody knows how to fix this, because this is a real problem for our organization.
