in new fresh ubuntu install the site worked fine
(less than 500msec for non-logged users

yes i did ( i am mostly troubled on why ram is not used so much and cpu gets to top which probably be sql ?)I have enabled cache ( W3 Total Cache), PHP OPCache. but the bottleneck is created when the admins ( backend) try to search the products etc which is a situation where cache is not used)
