Your probably going to have to actually edit the template file. You can do that online in the wp admin by going to appearance > editor and then clicking on the contact page template.
If you don’t have a contact page template, which might be the case for you, then you will have to create one.
Why don’t you just put it up on the web under a demo url and password protect the directory it’s in with .htaccess?

So, it looks like you are just checking to see if there is a paged query var and if not setting it to 1?
